A tatami mat is made of rice straw twisted into beams of approximately 2 cm in diameter and then arranged in layers with a thread of hemp-related and nested. The tatami, exceeding 20 kilograms, is covered on the rated superior by a fine rush mat. A black fabric or patterned is finally sewn on 2 lengths.
